To become the nationally recognized authority in the field of sports performance and athletic enhancement by facilitating the most comprehensive science-based educational resources and training for athletes at every stage of sports participation.
ATHLETIC SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
(6-9 YRS)
Developing foundational athletic abilities is a critical starting point in order to ensure success in future sport specific programs. Training programs designed to develop motor skills and athletic movements help to create long term enjoyment of physically demanding activities.
Young athletes need to be treated as such. Adult physical conditioning programming has no place in a child’s training regimen. Each young athlete has their own identity and their own special needs. Young athletes require a wide variety of stimuli to encourage steady and consistent physical development. Implementing extreme conditioning programs is ill advised and can be detrimental to the athlete’s short and long term health. The Sports Armory’s training protocol will include the proper elements at the proper intensity. Protocol will include:
- Running and Jumping Mechanics
- Agility and Movement Efficiency
- Catching and Throwing Basics
- Muscle Activation (Foundational Human Movements)
- Body Weight Strength Development
- Visual, Auditory and Kinesthetic Learning
- Flexibility
- Balance
- Exercise Tolerance
- Competition
- Core System Development
- Exceptional Sportsmanship

Benjamin waited with bated breath to turn 6 so he could get in on the fun. After watching his older brother train for quite some time, Benjamin jumped in with both feet and loves it. Now he enjoys the success that comes from greater speed, endurance and confidence.

My grandson had an injury in football last season and we felt like the workouts with Coach Pace would help him recover. His coaches have noticed a real improvement in his stamina and his agility. I highly recommend the training for young athletes at The Sports Armory.

When I think of Ashlyn’s time with the Sports Armory these last four years, I think of two results – athletic performance and injury prevention. Each season my daughter has moved up a full competitive level, from classic local play to competing in regional leagues at U18, enhancing her athletic potential while layering technical skills. Also, each year her durability has increased thereby avoiding injury while playing more physical matches at a faster pace. These direct results are exactly what we hoped for and the habits will stay with her through college and beyond.
